Common Errors

Most issues fall into a few predictable buckets: authentication, missing data, usage limits, or temporary outages. This page walks through the most common ones and how to fix them quickly.

Authentication & access

If you see errors about being unauthorised or not having access:

  • Make sure you're signed in to the correct workspace.
  • Confirm your API key (if used) is valid and has not been revoked.
  • Check that your role has permission to access the page or action.

“The bot doesn't know this”

If the bot repeatedly says it doesn't know something, or gives vague answers:

  • Confirm the relevant information actually exists in your uploaded documents.
  • Check that the document was successfully processed (status is complete, not pending/failed).
  • Split very large or messy documents into smaller, topic-focused files.

Widget not loading

If the embedded widget doesn't appear on your site:

  • Check that the embed snippet is present in the page HTML.
  • Ensure your ad-blocker or script blocker isn't blocking the script.
  • Confirm the workspace hasn't been disabled or deleted.
  • Verify that your plan hasn't exceeded its quota.

Usage & quota errors

If you see messages related to limits, quota, or billing:

  • Visit Usage & limits to see your current consumption.
  • Check Settings → Billing to confirm your plan is active.
  • Upgrade your plan if you consistently hit the limit.

When to contact support

If you've checked the points above and things still don't look right:

  • The admin console shows errors you can't resolve.
  • Uploads regularly fail for valid, readable documents.
  • Answers are consistently empty, off-topic, or missing citations.

In those cases, reach out via the contact details on the website with details of what you were trying to do, what you expected, and what actually happened.
