Billing & Usage

FAQBot pricing is based on sensible monthly limits rather than surprise overages. This page explains how usage is counted, where to see it, and how billing works.

What counts as usage

Under the hood, FAQBot measures usage in tokens – the units used by large language models. We surface this as approximate "answers per month" to keep things understandable.

  • Each chat answer consumes tokens (prompt + completion).
  • Each document upload consumes tokens during the embedding process.
  • Admin console tests and widget conversations both draw from the same pool.

Where to view your usage

In the admin console, go to Usage & limits.

  • See your current plan, monthly limit, and whether you're on trial or active.
  • Track a progress bar of tokens used this month vs your plan limit.
  • Review a daily breakdown of usage and export it as CSV if needed.

Plans, trials, and upgrades

When you start, you're placed on a trial with a sensible cap so you can test the product properly without entering card details immediately.

  • During trial, you have access to the full product with temporary usage limits.
  • When the trial is close to ending, you'll see reminders and emails prompting you to upgrade.
  • Upgrading via Stripe activates your chosen plan and removes trial restrictions.

What happens if you hit the limit

If you approach or exceed your monthly limit, we try to make it obvious and predictable:

  • We show warnings in the admin console as you approach 80–90% of your quota.
  • Requests that would significantly exceed your plan may be blocked with a clear error.
  • You can upgrade your plan at any time from the billing page.

Stripe customer portal

All billing is handled through Stripe. From Settings → Billing you can:

  • Update your card details and billing info.
  • Change plans or cancel your subscription.
  • Download invoices and receipts for your records.
